Best Local Restaurants

Well here in Athens we have the The Varsity , granted it will kill you if you eat it but its still mighty good.

Oh yeah, there just "happens" to be a few in Atlanta as well.

I've been to one of the ones in Atlanta. To tell you the truth, it was pretty intimidating.

"Intimidating" as in "greasy and nearly inedible"? I have no idea why people go there. If you want a good burger, go to the Vortex. Want a good chili dog, go to the Euclid Ave. Yacht Club. Varsity is disgusting.

LA food SUCKS

HAHAHAHAH WTF??

Where the hell are you looking for food? LA has some of the most diverse dining opportunities in the US, right along New York and San Fran.

What do you like to eat? I'll suggest a few places.

Hey Hey, I only get the pancaked cheese burgers and a big frosted orange.

I don't even think Athens has any food places it can call its own, aside from a BBQ place here or there and maybe a local deli. 🙁

What we need are a Steak'n'Shake and an OliveGarden.

L.A. doesn't really suck. Ok it does, compared to other cities, like SF and Dallas TX... What I meant by 'local' was 'not a chain.' But I guess it's hard to relate to other local restaurants in other towns cuz theres almost no chance of comparing or trying it out... BUT OH WELL

Can't get much good local stuff here in Gainesville but we do have Leonardo's Pizza which is REALLY good... That's about all I can think of.

You think LA food sucks????? Hard to believe. There are tons of good non-chain restaurants in LA.

Try living in Pittsburgh. Perogis and Primanti brothers. Yuck.

Not as much as your total ignorance. You sound like you've only been here ten minutes, and you're stuck with no car at some intersection with nothing more than a Micky D's on one corner and Pizza Man (worst pizza on planet Earth) on the other.

How many good restaurants do you want to know about, and what kinds of food? You'll need more than the price of a Happy Meal in your pocket.

In Ann Arbor, Tio's is great for Mexican, and the ORIGINAL (not chain) Cottage Inn is great for Italian.

And if you're looking for homeless weirdos, go to the Fleetwood Diner (open 24 hours).
