Best light weight automated backup tool for saving dated/auto-interval of files?

i use jdownloadr and it has a bad habit of corrupting its database, i'd like to have a program just make dated backup of the database so i can roll back when necessary. and of course multiple dated back files just in case it starts backing up a corrupt database...

since it would only be handling one directory, being light weight would be a good thing.
