What is the best socket LGA775 air cooler? My Zalman is giving very unsatisfactory performance.
If by "Air Cooled - Price is no problem" you mean a non-water cooled solution, then by all means that would be the Asetek VapoChill LightSpeed (AC)!Originally posted by: Nightmare225

However, I doubt that your pockets are that deep... 😀
With a Vapochill LS, you'll be able to run your E6600 @ 4.0 gig 24/7 benchmark stable!
If you're talking about "Air Cooled" in the catholic sense, then a Tuniq Tower 120 is your best bet!
With a Tuniq Tower 120, and enough fooling around -- lapping everything -- pushing enough air, and all that sort of stuff -- you might get to 4.0 gig benchmark stable, once or twice, but probably NOT 24/7...

Alrite, the Tuniq looks like it'll fit my needs. 😉 Any other thoughts on the Tuniq and maybe other alternatives?

I personally like the Zalman 9700. Its lighter than the Tuniq. Check out this site.
Only heatsinks that Frostytech has tested are included in these Top 5 lists; as such FrostyTech guarantees this list is incomplete, that some heatsink models available on the marketplace are omitted, and that it is not a permanent indication of what "the best heatsink ever" actually is.

The Tuniq Tower 120 is totally absent! What a shock!!!
Makes me a believer... 😀
*edit*
Oh, okay, I missed the 'fine print' on the first read:

The Tuniq Tower and the Scythe Infinity are currently the best air HSFs. The performance difference betwenn them is marginal.
And Canai, are you sure your room temperature is 15°C? That's pretty cold, 22°C is about the normal room temperature, don't know much that is in fahrenheit. Your motherboard temps sensors are probably just off...
