The forbidden non-gun weapons here are:
1. Viper: looks like a police baton, but the antenna-like detachable inside is hard metal.
2. 'Zeus': same as the viper, with an added electrificer. Kicks out for a pretty long time.

taser wouldnt be so bad...if she gets her head in the blanket, then she can still feel for it and get him in the leg or stomach.

To be realistic, weapons aren't all that useful given this dude's MO. If he sneaks up behind the girls and grabs them, there's not a lot of time to grab a weapon. The best defense is to pay attention to what's going on around you. If you see someone suspicious coming towards you, run. This isn't a John Woo movie, running is almost always the best idea. Other than that, travel with one or more people (most of these guys are cowards, two people is a whole lot more threatening than one), travel in well lighted areas, don't let yourself get trapped in isolated, dark areas.

I helped teach basic self defence classes for a little while, and the first thing I told the people taking the class was that your best defese is to pay attention and avoid a conflict whenever possible. That doesn't mean you have to be paranoid, it just means be alert. I've had many years of martial arts training, I'm a pretty strong guy in good shape and I carry a very sharp knife that I can open one handed faster than a switchblade everywhere with me and I still feel my best defense is to pay attention to what's going on around me, and avoid a conflict whenever I can.

Seriously, I've seen this kind of thing a lot. Unless you have a good weapon (ie, not pepper spray, mace, etc) and really know how to use it, it just gives you a false sense of security and makes you less cautious than you should be. Most violent criminals are just that, violent. And unless you are willing and able to be the same, you will lose. Your girlfriend is much better off being careful than getting an ineffective weapon.

peper spray is useless, after awhile you tend to build up a bit of an immunity to it( father is a cop, sets the damn thing off all the time) tasers are only good for one shot. stun gun can be easily used against her if overpowered, batons are useless in a close combat situation without proper training. get her a decent knive, not one of those $40 made in pakistan POSes ot take her to shooting range everyweeked to learn that a firearm is a tool not a weapon to be feared.

Well it looks to me like a rear view mirror would help, considering the attacks come from behind. Get one of those that bycycle racers use on their heads.

what she needs is presence of mind and opportunity where to strike the assailant. Even if she don't know self defense but knows a man's weak points (i.e., throat, balls, sides, eyes, etc.), chance is, she can protect herself, unless of course she's dealing with more than one Fvcked up dude!

damn, there are some hilarious responses in this thread!! Rhinocerous? 300 pounds of fat? hahahaha

Show her how to stick fingers down her throat to induce vomiting. The dude might not want to rape a girl that has vomit plastered all over her face and body.

electric wheelchair and CCM helmet might help too, plus she'd get around faster!

I agree with being aware of her surroundings being her best self-defense. My fiancee used to live in Brooklyn and I was real worried for her... thankfully she finally moved in with me. But anyway, I looked into the pepper spray thing and I found that it was illegal to sell to NY'kers so you have to get it an unconventional way. I think it still has a useful purpose so long as she carries it in her hands while walking (and still being aware). If the thug is still following her, at least she has that much to protect herself.

There is some good advise in there as far as limiting your exposure as much as possible, being aware of surroundings etc... As far as a weapon goes, I think that should be dictated by the mindset of the person wielding it, and to which extent they are willing to train with it.... I would say look for a womens self defense class and follow the advice of the instructor after finding out how far your G/F is willing to go to defend herself....
