I'm looking for an LCD with HDMI and DVI for my PC. Mostly for PC gaming, internet, PS3, and some occasional HDTV viewing.

My main question is, will PS3 games (playing at 1080P) look better on a 1920x1080 screen? since its the native resolution, opposed to one that is 1920x1200? or would it not matter?

I'm leaning towards this monitor VH242H. Anyone have any other suggestions? trying to stay under $300.

Thanks

I think you should stay away from the Asus LCD's. Color seems a bit off compared to my viewsonic X series.

Most games are 720p for the PS3 and they still look good on 1080p sets so I wouldn't worry about scaling. Just keep in mind PS3 games have an aspect ratio of 16:9 while 1920x1200 PC monitors are 16:10 so you'd have a stretched image unless the monitor included a 1:1 pixel mapping option.

I'm not sure if the PS3 has software side 1:1 pixel mapping.

If you get a 1920x1200 with scaling you'll be fine. I have a PS3 hooked up to my BenQ FP241VW and it's scaled and so looks fine.

My 24" Samsung T240 is great for gaming.

has dvi (for PC), HDMI (for PS3), and Analog (for anything and everything else)

i had 0 dead pixels on mine too. No issues so far either.
