I just pulled the trigger on a new system, and need a new monitor.

I'm looking at getting an LCD.

Right now, I have my eye on the Samsung 214T.

A little about myself, I'm only a casual gamer, mostly this will be for work, browsing the net, etc.
 
The LG L2000C will very likely suffice for your needs.

LG L2000C Froogle

Great color depth (8-bit S-IPS tech), viewing angles, dot pitch, response time, and contrast. It's a 20.1" 1600x1200 screen. I don't believe it has any competitors at the moment except expensive NECs way out of your price range.
