Seriously. And some vapor-phase refrigeration. That way, half your lap gets burned, and the other half would be frozen. That would rock, except for your rocks...

I paid $1150 shipped for my 9300/Go 6800. 😛

Yep, that is the max going rate (after bi-weekly coupon deal) for a new gaming laptop that rocks, AND runs dead cold while barely sucking battery power (Pentium M Centrino). Doesn't make sense in getting an old tech P4 CPU that runs slower, hotter, weighs more (due to extra cooling needs) and uses more juice.

I paid $1200 for my Sony VGN-S360p. It's only got a 9700 mobility, but it's good enough to play most games and it only weighs 4.1lbs...not to mention 4.5 hours of battery life. 😛

Looks like a soon to be user addon/upgrade option on Dell i9300/XPS2's.

I paid $1499 for a Dell XPS Gen2 from AAFES (only authorized users only). This is what I got:

Pentium M 2.0ghz
6800 Go Ultra 256mb
1 gig PC4200 DDR2
DVD Burner

I originally ordered one last week for $30 more without free DVD Burner, but cancelled that order because this one had more for less money! 7800 Go GTX was an option for $350, but I don't really need it for that $$$. I could always upgrade down the road with the MXM module.

I would not touch an HP right now. My wife bought a ZE2000 series in July and less then 2 months later it starts to crap out. After an on-line session and 3 phone calls over 3 weeks the phone tech from India says "Oh my God!" When a tech says that u know you are in trouble. The piec of )&*^$%& is at HP being repaired as we speak.

PLEASE DO NOT try to get me to buy an HP right now!
