Best laptop for my mum

My mums back to school soon, and wants a new laptop for office apps, internet, light music and the oiccasional DVD. She wants to spend a max of £800 GBP. I'd rather she went with an athlon purely from a value perspective, but i dont know much about notebooks. any reccomendations for a good one, as she wants to order by the end of the week. cheers guys
 
Look into an apple iBook. For that price you could probably get a nice 12" w/ wireless b/g, bluetooth, combo drive, etc... It would probably take her less than a day to learn the basics of OSX, and it's a very stable system which is great for students! Oh yeah and there's also a nice student discount that I'm sure she's eligable for!
