Best laptop for Linux?

I've been thinking of picking up a 13" MacBook Pro, but I'm getting fed up with waiting for the refresh. Can anyone suggest an alternative? I'm looking for the following:

-13" widescreen format (14" would be okay, too - 12" is too small and 15" is too big)
-Really excellent keyboard
-5+ hours of Ubuntu Linux with the wi-fi turned on
-Very high build quality and reliability.
-$1k or less pricetag.

ONLY thing youll get now a days with more than 2.5 - 3 hours on battery will be a netbook I'm afraid. Unless you get a HUGE battery, or external battery solution on a regular 13"+ notebook. Regular laptops havent really drifted into the 5+ hour range yet. Least not last i looked around. If someone has info to the contrary id love to hear it.

You haven't seen the CULV laptops, have you?
