Best laptop for $700 or less?

They are going to use it for general usage type stuff.. internet, mail, homework, etc.. Brand isn't really a big deal.. toshiba, hp/compaq, etc, doesn't matter. Requirements would be, wireless NIC, RJ-45 NIC 256MB RAM, Combo optical drive.. That's about all I can think of that's required.

I would check the Dell Outlet website; sometimes they have great deals. We just got a prety good Inspiron 1000 for under $900 (student discount).

Check best buy. They frequently have Toshiba laptops for 599 or 699 AR with the specs that you require (2.7ghz celeron, 256mb, 40 gig hd, dvd/cd-rw, etc.)
