Any opinions on who makes the best laptop displays? I've been impressed by the Fujitsu's I've seen but wanted to see if there were any better.

LG and Samsung displays are generally pretty good; used in a variety of laptops.

I like the screen on my Asus; the only downside is it's a 14" WXGA instead of a WXGA+.

i have the 14 wxga on my vostro too.... it's decent. LED backlit displays are the best/brightest/lowest power

I've found the screens on Dell Latitude D-series to be good, at least in an office environment with overhead fluorescent lighting everywhere. Using an ancient D800 and a slightly more recent D620 right now.

Wish there was more extensive testing/reviews done for laptops concerning their readability in sunglight/outside.

couple years back some like ibm had option of getting s-ips display. but i think most these days are probably 6bit displays. even macs use 6bit displays (there was a lawsuit filed not too long about for misrepresentation of how many actual colors they displayed)

I find that Macbook Pros have the best display of any laptop. Don't bother with Macbooks as they're no better than anyone elses'.

I'm surprised there is such a lack of info for laptop displays in general considering laptops seem to be more popular than desktops these days.

Check out Velocity Micro - I've been pleased. Not sure who the actual manufacturer is, though.
