I want to add a few kung fu movies to my dvd collection. I wouldnt mind bruce lee, but i know there is a ton of others out, like the wu tang clan movies and Jim Kelly movies. I havent seen many but i really like the genre and want to know what you guys think is quality kung fu. Im into really cool fight scenes, story line if it is funny, and parodies are always welcome...Any suggestions?

I thought there were like 8 Once upon a time in china..........I think most of them are w/ jet li......but the rest were good too......

btw, donnie Yen is "In once upon a time in china 2," so if you have doubts, go watch that.

drunken master 1 & 2.
iron monkey.
the twin warriors (the tai chi master).
I love most jackie chan movies... just because he keeps it interesting.

7 samurai is great also not as much of a kung fu movie tho
Especially since samurai and ninjas come from Japan, while Shaolin priests and kung fu are Chinese 🙂

Fist of Legend
Iron Monkey (be sure to get the 1993 PG-13 disc with much better subtitling)
Five Deadly Venoms

Sword & sorcery & superhero
- A Chinese Ghost Story
- The Bride With White Hair
- The Duel
- The Heroic Trio, The Executioners
- Black Mask (NOT Black Mask 2!)

... and Big Trouble in Little China 🙂

Any films by Jetli before he came to Hollywood.

Fist of Legend.

hands down. period. QED.

Just be sure to get the non US DVD release of Fist of Legend. As I recall, Disney did the US version, and only included the dubbed soundtrack. It is much better hearing the original language version with subtitles. The dubbed version is awful.
