title says is all... basically, my buddy wants to get a good, sub-$75 motherboard that can support a 166fsb without issues. The reason for not going to a nforce2 mobo is because this is primarily going to be used as a linux machine, and he doesnt want to mess with the linux norce2 driver problems.

thanks in advance! 🙂

hmmm, never really thought about the kt400 boards. i was only looking at the kt333 line at newegg.

tell me this please, if i am not mistaken, do all KT400 mobo's have the 1/5 divider in them?

tia 🙂

for the most part I think all of them do. There might be one or two that don't, but that would be the expection to the rule as far as I know. Read the reviews at Newegg.com and they might have some info. I am sure if the board did not support 166Mhz FSB someone would complain about it fast.

if you are set on a Kt333 mobo, then the Abit KD7-E is a good one. 1/5 divder everything the KT400 has except no AGP 8X, and no onboard anything. selling for low to mid $70 range online.
