Ok, so I have a system for my mom to build....
She won't be oveclocking.....just would like the most feature rich and stable board.

The breakdown :
AMD 1900+ or so...(W/Alpha)
512 PC-2700 or better (Samsung ?)
IBM HDD 80gb or so (120GXP)
Lite-ON CD-RW & DVD

You get the idea.... so what MB would give her the most for a NON-Overclocker ?

And if anyone has a good deal on any of this stuff, or knows of a hot deal on this stuff, please put it in PM... :)

Thx in advance guys !!!

Go for an ASUS board if you're not overclocking.

It's very stable and you just can't go wrong with thier lineups.

I would go for the Shuttle AK35GT2R. It has a 5.1 C-Media sound card. High Point raid so the hard drive can run a raid port and leave the 2 standard IDE ports for the DVD and CD-Burner. It cost less than $99.

Hmmmm.... that's an idea.

Pri/master= DVD
Sec/master= CDRW
Raid1/pri/master= HDD(master/single)

I've never set one up that way B4..... Will this work with just one hard drive ?

I have the older shuttle, and I love it.... although I do not use the raid right now.

LMK pepole.... :)

Yeah my vote goes to Shuttle AK35GTR v.2.2 or Epox 8K3A+!
They have about the same things, RAID, etc. But the Shuttle has 4 DIMM slots.

Good luck on ur pick!
