I'd hardly consider a 6800GS "budget." "Bang-for-budget" maybe.

It's the current favourite for midrange GPUs, and likely won't get displaced for a bit, esp. if you're only going to run at 1280x1024 or so. :)

XFX has a lifetime warranty on their cards I believe.

If you're going to spend a few more bucks, I'd get one with dual DVI. :)

evga covers overclocking and gpu fan changes
xfx has a transferrable warranty

Don't see any 6800GS's on newegg with dual DVI. The Sapphire x800GTO2 has dual DVI but I heard their warranty/support was horrible.

mwmorph those both sound good. Even though most don't recommend reading reviews off of newegg I did notice the XFX has 132 reviews where the Evga has 20. Which could or couldn't mean anything.

evga is a great company and has been fro a while.
xfx had many problems with it's 6800gt including missing cpaicators and their 6600gt, including painted heatsinks on the contact patch causing high temps. They have seemed to really have turned it around recently. Their tech support used to be like going through hell while dragging a giant brick behind you. Now it has realyl improved.
