I'm finally tired of using regular old mIRC and guess its time to try one of those modified clients that everyone else apparently uses....please link me to one or more if you HAVE USED THEM and liked them....stating why would be helpful. Thanks!

hmm, what do you want the client to do? I've been using an older version of xchat for windows for native irc, or i ssh into a heavily modified version of epic.

honestly really nothing specific....just tired of the basic one and i've seen other people with much better scripts/clients in the past, so if anyone knows of any just throw out some names.

for scripts: i don't know...make your own? i did. www.mircscripts.org has some nice references. and there's a skinning engine there by kamek, if i recall correctly that's his name. tons of skins.

ir-what? full name? link...?

irssi rocks. Irssi is the full name.

It's nice, simple to use but has a sophisticated interface. Plus it's completely scriptable using perl, if you know how to do such stuff. I am a pretty big newbie to irc myself, but it's help menu stuff is actually helpfull.
