I don't know if this fits Apple vs Windows software better as I want to manage my iPod on my windows box and want something that makes creating playlists and managing music easy. The software I tried (esp iTunes) tends to grab all my music instead of just what I want.

I think i tried media monkey as well and didnt really care for it. I went with sharepod and like its approach a bit better
