Anyone have any recommendations on a great FM transmitter for my wife's car? We do not wish to buy an "ipod" compatible radio as it's and old car and there's no point, but on trips we'd love to play the ipod in it.

Thanks in advance.

none. There is no such thing as a good RF modulator, unless you live in the country where there is no radio station.

Best is if your car comes with a AUX port to plug it in. The next best option is use the cassette feeder.

Slightly off-topic, but this statement bugged me a bit. I fooled around with my mom's new Camry LE sound system, which does have an AUX port. When I plugged my Zen Nano into the port and turned the volume up, I was surprised by how bad the music sounded. Then I plugged in my Belkin Tunecast and it sounded much better (bass was much fuller, sound was up-front and more "real" sounding). Just my thoughts; I don't know if this is how it works with other cars.

I like my belkin Tunebase FM for my 1st gen nano. Like others have said though, these work best in areas without congestion in the commercial broadcast FM band.
