BTW - if the computers are down, typically, institutions allow you to withdraw funds based on past automatic deposits.

I worked for a bagel store when I was in HS ... no dd ... a web dev company ... no money (or dd) ... and a small web dev company up here ... no money (or dd) ...

Finally, after 7 years I have DD!!!

Reminds me of this guy I knew that was just flabbergasted when he got a job that paid him every week instead of every two weeks.

every job ive had has had direct deposit. as soon as i get hired, its the first thing i take care of. not like my dumb ass friend, because we leave for vegas in 3 weeks on a thursday, and now he has to find a institution in vegas to cash his pre-dated check for friday, and he's worked at home depot for over 2 years and never set up DD. tsk tsk.

Actually there are still a number of small businesses that don't offer direct deposit. I'm glad the place I work for offers it. Just wish they direct deposited expense checks.

the place where i work at just started direct depost of non-payroll (ie: expenditure reimbursement) checks.
