Hey Guys, now that Vista has been out for a while, I just wanted to get your guys opinion on what is the Best Internet Security Suite for Vista? I have been using Avast for my virus protection (happy) and I have been using mcafee for my firewall protection (not happy). Mcafee is really starting to piss me off. Its slow and it uses alot of my resources.

So if you guys can recommend some really good Internet Suites for Vista, it would really solve my problems that I am having right now. Thank You!

P.S. Fusion

Norton Internet Security 2007 (I use that) and possibly 2008 (minor changes).

Works on 2 XP machines and 1 Vista laptop in my house, and I believe it is perfect. Slowdowns are only experienced on startup and during updates (every 4 hours), but otherwise it works perfectly fine.

Kaspersky Internet Security (3-user license) is currently FREE after MiR

[*]Install the free trial while you wait, all you have to do is enter the license key in when it arrives to activate your subscription, no reinstall
[*]one of the highest (if not the highest) detection rates in the industry, see the detection rate thread.
[*]hourly updates
[*]low system resource / ram use (at least compared to mcafee)
[*]Internet Security is modular, install only features that you want
[*]Some users experience a slowdown when browsing on certain systems, read more about it and solutions here, I highly suggest that you install the trial to see if you are in the minority who experience this problem

Right now the suite to beat is actually Norton's Internet Security Suite 2008. It has had a lot of changes in the past couple of years to improve performance and overall reliability. For $69.99 it'll give you 3 licenses.

I hated Symantec until Norton 360(which I use right now). I have installed NIS2008 on a couple machines now and it's been just as good as N360.

I am using NIS 2007 now but it expires tomorrow I am not sure how GOOD is anti virus with NIS?
Norton did not find some viruses until I switch to AOL Active Virus Sheild it found 4 viruses that Norton did not care to find them.

Now I am thinking about Avir AntiVirus Personal Classic (free) or go with Kasoersky AV and maybe free ZoneAlarm firewall.

I've tried several, including Kaspersky, but I always return to NIS2007. VERY light on resources and very thorough.

Eset's NOD32 is just about to go security suite. I have received an email that it will soon, very soon, will be released possibly in early November.

I would certainly check it out when it is released.

Launched today: ESS

Nod32 (AV) subscribers can get an upgrade through: http://www.betterantivirus.com/ (No, I do not work for them) According to links on Wilder's, you get your current sub time remaining (up to 2 years) + whatever you buy.

The ESET site has trials to download and try.

The AV engine has been reworked as well, and is now (finally) in version 3.
