Best IDE HDD?

I'm looking for opinions on the best IDE HDD. I currently have a IBM GXP 7200RMP ATA100 drive that runs flawlessly. However, I'm building a new system and wanted to get an idea of what I should be looking at. I am well aware that Western Digitial BB's are prone to flaws. I'd like a drive that is fast and dependable.

Thanks!

WD 1200JB is currently at the top, I haven't heard of any dependability problems.

Gotta love 7200 RPM / 8 MB cache.

My roommate & I both use this drive, & love it.

I've had nothing but good luck with IBM drives. of course I'm a little biased since I work there.

Another vote for the Western-Digital. I have one in both of my computers and I've never had a problem.

I work at a "IBM Customer Solution Center", we fulfill all kinds of business contracts with new computer equipment installs or refurbished stuff. Most of our customers are Hotels, Insurance companies, Hospitals, Schools, that sort of thing. Actually we are doing a major one for Mcdonalds right now, they are in the process of replacing alot of their east coast menu screens with plasma tv's. One server runs each site and is hooked up to four TV's via a matrox card. The server is then programmed to change the menu or change the prices according to the time of day and location. pretty cool stuff. but there is also a down side sometimes I will be put on a contract for a couple thousand printers. Usually unbox them and install a network name and Ip address, it gets old after about ten of them.

thats cool man, I am a manager at a Computer related company. We repair pc's but we also have a leasing company that leases systems by the thousands. when we get them back we usually don't get the software so we fdisk them and wholesale them. Just think. Having to hook up a thousand pc's (usually 6 at a time) and runnign fdisk....I feel sorry for my guys who have to do that and when I'm not terribly busy usually help them as I'm not as skilled as my repair technicians and usually do not help with those repairs. But anyways the point being I feel for you as far as having to do a ton of printers like that...

Yeah, luckly we have some retiree's and "Manpower" people to do the really big stuff. I usually just start the contract off in the right direction and then train the people in to do whatever needs done.

How about Seagate?? they are usually top of the line.
