Do those reusable plastic water filled cubes you freeze and use in place of ice work well?

I don't get the OP hate in this thread.

ice cube trays are an engineered product... surely it stands to reason that one design is better than the rest.

Anyone use ice tube trays or molds? I had a tray that spilled a lot, but it was more convenient than many cubes once frozen. I'll be using them with a CamelBak and 24oz wide-mouth bottles. 7" is manageable, and thick is desired.

by the way, I see very little need for ice. One of those weird American things that I simply don't understand anymore. While young I couldn't live without, nor could ever imagine a life without ice in my drinks--yet as I grew older, realized how stupid it was.

I have two ice cube trays in the fridge, and they are probably depleted once a month.

We use ours even less. I love cold drinks but that is why we have a basement fridge that is set just above freezing. Ice cold diet coke, fuck yeah. I have about 5 cans a day.

It's amazing how if TridenT starts a thread about FUCKING ICE CUBE TRAYS it turns into a 100-post long discussion.
