Best HSF for XP 2500+ overclocked to XP 3200+

I have a Barton core XP 2500+ that I have overclocked to an XP 3200+ by merely setting the FSB to 200 on my DFI LanParty nfII Ultra. I am using a stock AMD HSF that came with an XP 2500+ with a copper base and I have lapped for better contact. Current temps at idle are 50C but that is going to go up when the weather warms. The highest I have seen it lately is about 65C under load on a hot day. My room is not that cool in the summer and I am worried about the rising temps in a few months.

I want to get the best solution I can and still have some ugrage room when I eventually go to an AMD 64 processor so I am willing to go overkill for now if that is possible. Are there any solutions availabel that will work on the XP and AMD 64 platforms? I want the best cooling I can get without water so I am willing to spend the money I need to.

Any help would be appreciated.

You have described exactly why I purchased the Gigabyte 3D Rocket-Cooler Pro. I too am using a Barton 2500 running as a 3200.

See it here.
3D Rocket -Cooer Pro

It's one of the very few heat pipe coolers that works for all the current sockets and processors.

It will be slight overkill for a Barton even at 3200 but, it will go right on to what ever you choose to migrate to.

I moved the rheostat knob to a 5.25" bay adapter that holds my 3.5" card reader/USB ports. I am mod the box crazy like that. 😛

Thanks....that looks great. I'm assuming none of the new Zalmans or the XP-90 or XP-120 will fit from what I see.

BTW...what kind of temps you seeing with that Gigabyte HSF?

I'm using a TT SilentBoost K7 for my Barton 2500+. Mine wasn't stable at 200 FSB (Prime crashes within a minute) but the temps were always under control.. peaked out at 47-48C under full load when overclocked at that level.

im using a thermalright si-97 with a 92mm panaflo h on it for my 2500+ barton, runs 38 degrees idle 41 degrees load, its oced to 3200+.

the temps should drop a little more once the arctic silver sets in

According to reviews the Thermalright SI-97 kicks everything by a good margin. I might have to reconsider buying one that can upgrade to a new proc.

Thanks everyone. I read a lot of reviews and the Gigabyte 3D Cooler-Pro only performs average and is noisy. The Thermalright SI-97 is the standout winner everywhere I read a review so I decided to not worry about using the HSF in an upgrade and bought one at Jab-Tech for $35 with a $7 Panaflo.
