I know almost everyone has moved on to the durons and t-birds, but I still have my classic.
I'm looking for a quality hsf for a classic athlon. I will be overclocking, so it has to be good. Any suggestions? Tried a search, but no results found :(

If you're not going to be doing any extreme overclocking, a Golden Orb is inexpensive and decent.

You can't go wrong with either an Alpha or a GlobalWin product. Taisol is also top notch.

I'd try to stay away from the Orb's though...they are pretty, but they don't perform all that well. Even mildly overclocked systems seem to run a bit high when using them.

Thanks for the replies. I was kinda leaning for the GW VOS32. I do remember reading somewhere that the Golden Orbs doesn't perform that well on a slot A (I could be wrong). Also, where can I read up on the Taisol? I don't know too much about them, like cost/performance. Anyways, thanks for the input.

another vote for VOS32, my modified one is running my athie650@800 default voltage, it can do 850 @1.8v but it's just 50mhz so I leave it @ 800

:)

Northwind GFD Rev. 3.0 -- small, only 6 dipswitches, no external power needed.

I got a Artic Circle (original) that mounts to the core and a K7oc GFD needing to get rid now since I moved on. LMK

I just got a Taisol CGK742092 and added the Delta 60mm 39.5dba 30 CFM instead of what I see as a tiny lil fan that comes stock with it. It is a huge heatsink so I would imaging be able to pull heat a little better than what I had before.

Oops scratch that, didn't notice it was a classic Athlon.

<steps quietly away> ;)

Cast my vote for an Alpha P3125 with a pair of Delta black labels for my Classic 950, and a Maximizer GFD for my Classic 600.
