Best HSF for ASUS A8N-Sli

Hey all

I have OC my CPU (AMD64 3000+) but had to step down a bit form near my max OC due to a crappy non-stock HSF.

Was just wondering what the best HSF is that i could use with this MB... i have been looking at eBay recently and some of the lare heatpipe towers that require mounting on brackets have caught my attention...

However i do not think my A8N-Sli has the necessary holes in it to allow for such a HSF ???

Am i wrong or am i going to have to go for a more standard fit HSF??

Thanks all

I have a Scythe Ninja heatsink, all you have to do with my Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe is use the Ninja's brackets to replace the MB brackets taht teh stock HS attaches to with the clips.

HSF for the CPU or MoBo chipset?

Either way, look on the manufacturers website. The A8N-SLI's use standard K8 mounting for the CPU. Almost any moden HSF will work.

Considered the Zalman CNPS9500?

consider CNPS9500... not sure if i can justify that much £££ 🙁

forgot to mention that i'm on a tight budget...!

I've heard one or two good things about the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro.. it's this giant fan that actually directs air other than directly above the CPU... so it could be like this...

(you can rotate the cooler so that the air circulates towards an exhaust fan...)

I love my Zalman CNPS9500 😀. Just be warned though that this thing is a monster to install. I got 6 cut fingers, threaded two screws, and had to reseat it twice because it took me too long the first time and the Thermal Interface Material (T.I.M.) started to dry before I got it on. But once it's on it's wonderful.
