My system shuts off after about an hour of gaming, I have an intake fan in front of case, a rear out take, plus my antec 400w has its own intake/outtake.

I used one of these. Reviews I read stated that it cooles better than the Zalman coolers. Higher overclocks as well. Also easier to install from what I've read. I personally found it to be very easy.

Newegg has them as well. I think $16 + $5 shipping?

EDIT: As for noise. I run mine at the full speed and still can't hear it. :)

I don't know if this helps, but i have a 9800 np, bios flashed to pro, and OC'd to 396 core, 366.75 memory, i get zero artifacts at this speed, with the stock HSF and some ram sinks i bought. The ram sinks really helped on my memory overclock. Mayb eyou can get by with jsut some ram sinks?

I played CoD for hours on end, with max details and no problems. It seems to overheat only when I play glide games (running in opengl mode of course).
