Whats the best hsf for this 1.4ghz if I don't want to overclock? Maybe like in 2 years I might chose to overclock, but not now.

A quiet one too please!

there isnt really a best, and the better the fan the louder it is usually....you just have to pick how loud is too loud. i have a vantec hsf and it has a delta black label fan on it and i consider it too loud. theres lots of sites with hsf reviews, im sure you could find one.

there are 2 hs i have had experience w/ that can give you good results.

1. WBK 38 w/ a 92mm or an 80mm fan hooked to it. gives you world class performance (by world class i mean that every review out there ranks the wbk38 w/ the delta fan in the top 5 in performance) w/ very little noise.

2. Gladiator or Golden Gate w/ a 27 cfm fan on it. performance is very case cooling dependent. this fan is available at Link. Good performance competitive w/ the wbk. also quiet. if you want top notch performance you can get the golden gate w/ the 38 cfm delta, very loud but top notch performance.

both of these can be purchased for less than $30.00 the golden gate can be had for $19.98 shipped. very good price.

Hey platinum, does a 92mm fan mount on the wbk as easily as a 80mm goes on?

not quite as easily. you need to put a fan guard on the side you want facing the HS, then u just clip to the fan guard. i didn't have a fan guard handy so i just ran some wires accross the holes for the screws then i clipped to the wire. works for me so far, but i'll be buying some fan guards as soon as i place an order for something else, wouldn't wanna pay shipping on just fan guards. :)

ya it has for me. i have the msi board. this board doesn't have a fan on the northbridge hs. so w/ a smaller fan i can get bsod errors cause my northbridge heats up too much.

alrighty then...it'll only cost a few bucks more lol

im usin an Epox 8K7A :) ne idea if it'll help much on that?

the 92mm and the 80mm have nearly the same CFM...the 92mm is 1CFM more, and 1db quieter
