Yeah, I'd also like to know. Planning on going for spring break / g/f's 21st.
Like what hotel gives you the best cost to niceness factor, because obviously the best one will probably be the Bellagio... but I certainly can't afford that.

Venetian or Bellagio

They're both centrally located which is nice also.

yup, venetian and bellagio are the 2 fanciest hotels, if that's what you are looking for.

Actually I found the Monte Carlo to be very very nice for the price.....check out
http://www.americawestvacations.com to book airfare/hotel packages...you can even get a shuttle from the airport to your hotel for around $8/pp. When my g/f and I were there they offered us an upgrade to a suite for $30 more per night and we gladly accepted.

The reasons I liked it was because it smells really nice in there (not smoky like most other ones), and they have a really good Diner where I ate a lot for fairly cheap. Plus, it's right next to the Bellagio, which puts it right in the middle of the strip. If I remember correctly, we paid $180/pp for airfare and 2 nights stay from San Diego...keep in mind it's always cheaper to stay during the weekdays (Sun-Th)!

I would not describe the Venetian as "centrally located"... it's not as far as Circus Circus but it's at the north end of the Strip

I liked Paris and New York New York okay, but the Bellagio and Venetian certainly seem the most upscale. Mandalay Bay is also nice but it's kind of far away if you like to walk everywhere.

Doesn't matter if it's cheap or not, if you play your money right you can get a few weeks wherever free ;) Fanciest would probably be the Bellagio, although the Monte Carlo and The Mirage were really nice too.

Best thing to do is gamble where you are staying (or stay where you are gambling). As you gamble, you build up your player points. Gamble enough, and they'll comp your room or a night or two. Even if you don't play that much, you get put in the system and they see you've stayed there and gambled there. Next trip, you build up a bit more. After a couple trips, you'll start getting free weekend and drastically good rates.

Bally's, NYNY, Paris, Alldin, and Excalibur are all nice places. The Grand is simply huge and has good clubs/restaurants. Luxor is a little bit of a walk as it's the furthest out. I simply hated the Tropicana but it's in a good location. Barbary Coast is a great location but I thought it was much more of a seniors scene and depressing inside. Boardwalk is a good location but nothing special inside the casino or hotel. The Palms and Hard Rock are nice, but not located on the strip. You'll have to drive, taxi, or shuttle bus to the strip. The Orleans is fairly nice and has a good shuttle going to the strip every 15 min or so. There's a bowling alley and theater inside which can be fun and cheap compared to gambling. the Orleans is also a very good buffet for the price. Not as expensive and the food is great.

any place you can get that is on the cheaper side will be better than fancy places look for package travel deals with your airline...gives you more spending money and you more than likely won't spend more than an hour or two in your room anyways. At least I never did went back to the room to shower and get a quick nap and that was it.

hehe..i've been comped by various hotels for a total of 21 days for Dec in Vegas.

Right now I'm at the Venetian. I'm up $600 so far, but all from a different casino. I'm actually down a few hundred at the Venetian, which would probably mean more free comps from them :)

Bellagio will destroy you because it is so nice.

Buffet is the best.

Keno bar is the best.

Drinks are the best.

Gambling is the best.

Venetian = 2nd best because it is across the street from the Bellagio.

If we can find a deal I'd like to stay at Paris or Aladdin next time.

The Coast chain has Air/Stay packages - I have seen them advertised at the Gold Coast.
The downtown casinos along Freemont will be cheaper than on the strip.
Sams Town and the Stations chain will also have reasonable week rates.

Most places off the strip will have between $29-$59 per week day night.

Rates will double at least for the Week-end.
