Best hosting deal for $50-$75/year? -- addeed new question --

Haven't kept up with the hosting deals lately.

I will need 2 mySQL databases for a small picture gallery and a forum. cPanel would be great too.

edit:

Who is the best for domain registration? Namecheap or GoDaddy?

Telnap.com had holiday specials which were still valid last night.

If you don't mind paying monthly here is an awesome deal:
SonataWeb.net offers a resellers account (no you don't have to "resell" anything, how you use your resources is totally up to you)

» HOST UNLIMITED DOMAINS!
» Storage: 1000 MB's
» Transfer: 20,000 MB's
» cPanel/WHM Access
» SonataWeb DNS Servers*
» 18 cPanel Themes - RVSkins & XController Included.
» Fantastico Auto Installer
» 30 Day Money Back Guarantee
» 99.8% Uptime Guarantee
» $5.95 a Month
» ORDER NOW

All the domains you host receive their own cPanel, Fantastico auto installer scripts, email, webmail, etc. You could host your 1 domain then offer free web host to family/friends or even charge people $3/mo and make some money on the side.

You're welcome and it is pretty sweet.

1GB/20GB with cPanel and the ability to host unlimited domains for $5.95/mo is a pretty nice deal

Yet another:

Where is the catch with the hosting offered by GoDaddy.com?

Economy Plan: $3.56/month
? 5,000 MB Space ? 250 GB Transfer
? 500 Email Accounts ? 50 Email Forwards
? 10 MySQL Databases
? No advertising banners

Namecheap, 7 cents cheaper, and their control panel it lightyears ahead of GoDaddy's, in terms of ease of use and functionality.

It also comes with free Whoisguard - your personal information would be publically available through a whois

Thank you!

I saw a black avatar then a link saying ORDER NOW! Something told me to steer away at first...

Anyone know how long a grace period is for a domain after it expires? One I am interested in shows as expiring Nov 5 on the whois, and presently in a grace period.

A while, probably around 60 days from expiration date.

If you REALLY want it and don't mind paying $$$ for it, you might be able to back order it.
