Best hometheater speakers for under $500?

I read nothing but great reviews about the Onkyo HT-S760, its only $400 with s/h from onecall.com. Is there a better set within my price range?

I have the 760's and I love them. Additionally you can occasionally find deals where they are really cheap. I got mine from ecost for a refurb set that came to $250 including shipping! Has worked perfectly without issues.

well i havn't heard of those two models but...

I just set up new new logitech z680's and i am very happy with them. after taxes and in canadain funds they were 500 bucks. the highs are very clear and the bass is full sounding. I wish it had RCA in but itn not a huge deal to use a y-cable.

while the logitech speakers are nice the Onkyo HTIB is much better suited for a home theater setup....especially since it comes with a real receiver.

my friend has the S560 (5.1 setup) and it sounds great.

The HTS770 😛 But itll run more as onecall and such dont have it, CC does.

Damnit, one call is outta stock.🙁 The only fry's is in Sac which is a good 2 -3 hr commute for me, how much is it if I make the commute to pick them up?🙂

I'd start smaller and build, personally. I went with a receiver 2 bookshelf speaks and a sub to start and that ran around 500 or 600... Its a much higher quality setup when you start in that manner IMO

JBL Northridge E50's
Harman Kardon AVR 230

More than $500 so keep saving

It seems you are looking for a HTIB, not just speakers, you should be more clear in the post
