I think the question you need to be asking yourself is "What forum do I need to be posting this in?"

Logitech Z-560's are definatly awsome speakers for the price you pay, some people say they notice high end sound missing but I don't notice it.

I have a Cambridge Soundworks MegaWorks 510D (5.1) set and couldn't be more satisfied. The reviews I've read place 'em pretty much on par with Klipsch speakers sound-quality wise and they do sound good, they're the best sounding pc-speakers I've heard so far. Never heard Klipsch speakers though as they're very rare here so I cannot say if it's true.
As for playing loud, they should sound good even when playing close to the max volume (450w ín all if I remember correctly); never had it so high though, even at 50% they loud enough for me :)

Get the klipsch 5.1's. That was easy.

Downgrade? About the only thing that would be a downgrade from Crapsch would be Cambridge S**t works.

I'll grant you've I've never heard Logitech Z560s...but I can't imagine them being any worse than the harsh bright highs and muddy midrange of the klipsch....

I've seen speakers for half the price that sound better easily. They just can't go quite as loud.

That said, if you just have one bad Sat, don't waste your money buying a new set. See if you can just get a replacement sat.

the z560 at 10% of the volume with all the bass turn down on the sound card and the controls... it will still be loud as heck

I have klipsch 4.1's. And as a matter of fact I had my friend who was on a budget buy the Z560's. They're great speakers, but we both agree that my klipsch sound better. When all is said and done, if you go from KLIPSCH to LOGITECH, you are downgrading.

Yeah and about those speakers for half the price that sound better easily but aren't quite as loud. Duh that's the point, lots of cheap speakers sound good when they're not turned up, but once you even get moderately loud the sound turns to CRAP. With the klipsch, it only sounds better.

bonk102, what about Cambridge Soundworks Megaworks 510D 500W 5.1? In my opinion Klipsch 5.1 and the 510d are the best speakers. The reason I would say 'if you want Klipsch 5.1 get Megaworks 510d' is: both are extremely good speaks (on some sites the 510d is rated better than Klipsch others have it the other way around), and I have known many people who have gotten the Klipsch 5.1 and almost everyone of them had to return his Klipsch and get a replacement at least once (one guy I knew did it four times). The Klipsch have some problems with the knobs and I cannot remember what else (something serious), but this happens a lot with Klipsch 5.1's in my spectating. If you want a Klipsch 5.1 get the Cambridge Megaworks 510D. The Klipsch has a 200W Subwoofer and 60W per Satellite, and the 510D has a 150W Subwoofer and 70W per channel. There's the big difference; however, in reviews of audio quality, they both perform outstanding and very close to each other (hense the reason why some sites think the Klipsch is better and others the 510D). The 510D is a good deal cheaper as well (I think it's because the Creative Inspire has tainted the image of the Creative Cambridge Megaworks). It is 264$ plus 18 Shipping here at Newegg. If you want power, but do not want to spend that much, get the Z560's, but they are not great if you do not like a lot of bass like me.

The speakers I am referring too are only 1 decibel below the 4.1s. They get well over 100 without any drop off in sound quality. Wow the new Pre-amp makes the 4.1s quieter than I thought it did. They actually drop below in a few tests. The difference is usually +/- 1 Decibel...but I'm suprised the Klipsch drops below...
But anyways, I'm not going to get into this argument anymore....I've had the argument about Klipsch far to many times already.

I've never heard the Z560s so I'll just have to take your word that they are worse than the Promedias.

Altec Lansing 640s are a bit better than the 560s. Punchy bass and good highs. I like them. Read the reviews.

Guys-

A lot of you seem to be confused about comparing speakers. You say that one has a certain power value, and the other has one as well. Power ratings are not a basis for making comparisons in speakers, whether it be for sound quality or SPL.

Below is a post I made regarding the power output of the Logitech speakers. You cannot believe the manufacturer's rated specs, unfortunatly.

"Some of you seem confused about power measurement. PMPO stands for complete power lie basically. Peak power stands for 2 times RMS power. RMS power stands for an accurate power measurement at one moment in time. The RMS value is meaningless without a time constant. Perhaps the amplifier can truly output 400w RMS, but for only .2 seconds. See, no one is lying. Another fun factor is that they will rate the power at an easy frequency such as 1khz. So, a good power rating on an amplifier would be this: 400w RMS into all 4 channels at 4ohms, driven from 20hz - 20khz +\- .5dB with less than 1 percent total harmonic distortion, driven with a constant white noise input signal for 1 hour. I dont think a manufacturer can fudge anything in there! Also the power transformer needed for 400w operation is about 7-800va. That is way too big to fit in that little box. Also, the amplifier's heat sink is too small to disapate 400w RMS for very long. Not to mention the speakers could not disapate that kind of power for very long.

Power ratings can be a very deceptive thing. "

for $300 you cant go wrong with the cambridge soundworks 510d. If you are on a tighter budget, get the z560s. If you have a large budget ($500 +) get a nice receiver and get a REAL sound system.

Klipsch's Promedia line SUCKS HARD.

why don't you sell the 4.1 and combine the $300 cash you got for a receiver and good speakers? that's a REAL sound system ;)
