I've heard that the new revisions of the board does not have vcore in BIOS, but has it in a Windows utility. Read the reviews on Newegg. I have an older revision and it does have all the settings except for the ability to span 12.5x multiplier.

I also have a board similar to your Chaintech. I have the one without video, Chaintech 7NIL1-SUMMIT. I got around those pesky non-overclock-friendly-BIOS problems by using pin mods.

what are pin mods? i just bought this board and have the same problem with a mobile athlon 2400.

well that looks like a great way for me to screw up the mobo or cpu ;)

although in a previous post someone mentioned using the defrost kit from a car ... so i guess if i just paint the additional circuits on and screw up i could always try scraping the paint off.

i think i'll just see first if i can exchange the board. there's a biostar and msi board both of which seem like they will let me set the cpu settings. Think i'd rather do that then risk screwing up the mobo or cpu since i've never done this before.

looks pretty damn cool though :)

thanks for the info...i'll save it for a last resort.

I have a Chaintec 7NIL1 mATX board and a Barton 2500+ which I have running 3200+ (200x11) without problem.

I did though have to use a knife to cut the L11 bridges to free them up so I could pin mod the socket with 4 wire briges. What I did was take a 80 pin IDE cable and strip one of the wires off and used it to make 4 U shape wires ~ .5 cm long. I used the ocinside.de guide to get the right 4 wires. I took my voltage up to 1.75 from the stock 1.65 and set the FSB in the bios to 200mhz and it posted and works fine at 3200+.

I like the 7NIL1 board cause it has the 4 heatsink mount holes around the socket to use my Alpha PAL6 heatsink. I have noticed that the board reports the temps a bit high though. I like the board cause it fits nicely in this Dell 4600 case (mATX P4) that someone gave me and it is quiet due to the 92mm fan and the 80 over the CPU.

Hope this will encourage others to follow..
