I am coming from a alpha 8942 with an 80mm fan but I don't think it will cut it at 3.5ghz with a warmer p4c chip and with HT on....I like the temps to load only into the 50's without crossing the 55c barrier...

I would like one compatabile with a 92mm fan so I can get a lower audible but high cfm fan compared to my nice ystech fan that does 40+cfm but takes 3600rpm to do it....

Also if anyone knows a mod to allow an alpha 8942 to hold a 92mm fan let me know, please...

Enter the wonderful world of Thermalright heatsinks :). Get either an SLK-947 or SP-94; they both accept 92mm fans. As for a fan, perhaps a Panaflo is what you need, or Zalman. Some quiet fans are: 92mm Panaflo M1A, L1A, Zalman ZM-F2, Vantec Stealth

The Thermalright SP-94 is gorgeous....and is supposed to cool very well with an attached fan. It uses heat pipe technology. Can't tell you how it works yet, but I've got one on order for my 2.8C.
