Anything out there thats quiet (80mm fan) that can run stock 3200 or a lightly o/ced M2500? It seems to be a pretty big waiste of money to buy expensive heatsink for this dying socket.

spend a little extra on a ALX800. That is about as "cheap" as I would go. Otherwise just use the stock HSF. Might be able to find a cheap Volcano9 somewhere .. not the best but a lil better than stock. $10 is a pretty tall order. Most of my fans cost more than that.

the ALX-800 is an amazing heatsink for the price. Be sure to pair it with a decent fan though.

Thermal Integration V77L. The stock 70mm fan is a feisty ah heck at .4A so you may want to consider a way to manually control it like the Zalman Fan Mate or just an ordinary potentiometer.

You might as well just stay with stock man...

Cooling is where it's at, and it's something you really shouldn't go cheap on, especially if you're a gamer.

I have that. Tom's rates it as the best heatsink, and I can tell you that it's lowered my CPU temp 20-30 degrees from stock.

The $10 ALX will cool your cpu just about as well as this HSF will.

EDIT: And is about $25 cheaper (compared to that link) after fan.
