I just got a new processor and new motherboard. I was wondering what the best heat sink for an AMD Phenom II would be. My ram is G Skill DDR 3 1333. I want this to be a gaming computer and want to overclock it a bit. Thanks guys for the advice.

ugh hate to tell you friend, but that is a DDR2 processor it wont fir in an AM3 mobo, the chip you want is either 945 (not 940) or 955 (the xx5 at the end means its an AM3 board)

either look for a DDR2 board and ram, or look for an AM3 processor (i hope you didnt buy already)

as for heatsink, the Xigs, Mugen, Mega, True, etc will all be good, just dont cheap out and no need to overboard for that chip

BUT REMEMBER, you need an AM3 Chip the 940BE is an AM2+ chip only!!!

You are going to have bigger issues that a heatsink, that 940 has no ddr3 controller.
