I need a headset with a microphone for my PC. I have tax returns coming and I want a really kick-ass set... if anybody can suggest a few different ones, I'd appreciate it. Right now, i'm looking at the ones from Alienware.

If you suggest the Sennheiser PC160s or whatever... you don't know how bad those are. Trust me, they are junk. I have some nice ones now, but I want a different pair since I have them on like .... all the time :)

A mute button for the mike would be ideal by the way :) It's something my current pair (Medusa 5.1) lacks.

I have these
and they rock. They're comfy, They're digital, Excellent mic, Excellent sound, built in Mute, what more can you ask for?

You have the Medusa. You don't want the PC160.

May I suggest SteelSound 5H then. IMO, it packs a lot more punch than the Sennheiser. Icemat Siberia is decent as well.

Junk. I am very sensitive to 'good' quality headphones. Not only is the sound shoddy, the headphones are terribly uncomfortable. I've bought these and sold them.

I should be more specific... I do *not* want USB headphones. There's a reason for this that only audiophiles appreciate.

Sounds like you want the turtle beach ear force hpa. They're 5.1 and come with splitters so you can plug them into the 5.1 speaker jacks in your sound card with your speakers. They've got their own amp and volume control and are reasonably priced. Just understand that you won't get the separation that your do from a descent 5.1 set of speakers but they're better than most headsets I've seen. I got mine from newegg but amazon has them cheaper right now.

So whats the best headphones.. I use two pairs at the same time, one good for sound connected to soundcard and one for the microphone connected with USB, works great but would be nice to have one good pair..

I think I'm going to give the SteelSound's a go. They have great reviews and besides after now just realizing it... the Ozma's from Alienware have no mike which means it's a deal killer.
