I want a nice headset w/mic that i can wear for hours playing CS and also listening to music. What should i get?

IMHO, Plantronics makes the best headsets for gaming. Their digital line is quite nice and pretty pricey. $140 for their top of the line headset. I have been using their headsets for several years now. Awesome sound and great feel on the ole head. You can usually find them at Best Buy or CompUSA if those are available to you or try PriceWatch. Good Luck!

Well do a search on pricewatch for dsp-500 and you get some tasty results.

For $84 I'll pick up a pair as well. Sorgon, I have never been a headphone guy but games today all want voice so I've decided to give into my captain's wishes. I just want to know how a headset combo compares to a good set of plain headphones?

Thanks

The Plantronics headsets are just as good as some high-end audio only headphones IMO. The DSP-500 will pump out some nice crisp and clear sound. The Bass on the high-end DSP-500's is pretty darn good for a headset. The mic is pretty sensitive when it come to voice comm. No more screaming at the lil mic that came with your computer. Lastly, it has some nice extra feature as you saw on their product page. Do a search on Google for "dsp-500 review" for some reviews of this product. Hope that helps. Good Luck!

Oops, didn't notice you wanted mic... These don't have a mic... 🙂

The Grado SR60 or SR80 headphones are probably the best bang for your buck...
The are about $70 and $100 respectively.
Sennheiser makes some nice one's too...

Both of these brands get pretty expensive as you go up in model
number though...
