I'm trying to find good headphones for my computer...40 bucks, more or less is what I'm planning on spending. Suggestions and links would be great! Thanks!

For a decent pair you'll probably have to spend around 50-60. I bought a pair of $29.99 Panasonics, they were great until one channel went out after a couple months. I replaced them with the same pair because I liked the first pair, and these too caught the same problem after a few months. So next time I figured I'd change brands and get some Aiwa's that were around the same price, same problem after several months! So after being burned 3 times by cheap headphones, I invested in an $80 pair of Sonys which I've had for nearly a year without any problems. I'm not rough with my 'phones either, I think the cheap ones are just junk.

Koss Porta Pro / Porta Pro Jr. (www.koss.com)
BAR NONE the most versatile headphones I've ever used. Tremendous bass response. WAY better than most other portable headphones and comparable with many open-ear studio monitor phones.

Koss UR-30. Full-ear headphones that collapse down pretty far. Got them at Borders for $25. An incredible deal; the sound is excellent and they are VERY comfortable to wear for hours. I forget I have them on sometimes..until I get up to go do something.. hehe. Great at blocking ambient noise too.

go to radio shack and check these ones out:

they are the optimus Nova 80. Sells for about 30 bucks now.

I like it, apart for the fact that its a little uncomfortable due to my eye glasses .. but it sounds awesome.

go check out some headphone review sites.

it's pretty much accepted that for the sub 100 category the koss porta pros and the grado sr60 are your best options that don't require a amp.

i got these headphones at compusa:

koss heaphones

They are $12.95 at buy.com, they don't sound as cheap as they are, but wait untill you hear them. I was really amazed. They sound really good, and the base is really strong. I have had them for 6 months or so, and no problems whatsoever.....

Your not at much of a loss if you don't like them.

Go Here. Scroll down to the headphone section. The Grado SR60s are some of the best cheap headphones out there. QAudio is an excellent dealer located in Cambridge, MA.

go to egay, or headwize.com, and get yourself some grado sr60s. don't settle for all that other crap in the pricerange. you can get used grados for about 30 bucks. new ones can run up to 60 on egay.
