best headphones $30-$50 and where to buy them?

Panasonic RP-HT710, much more clearer than my Sony MDR-V300's even though I used those sooooooo much. The bass is also much more "real", it's like having a pair of mini-subwoofers. I picked them up for $30 at www.hififorless.com

alot of people recommend the hd497 what about the hd457 they look exactly the same

they are not exactly the same, the 497's come with soft ear-cups while the 457's are fabric cushioned.

cant say much about the 457s, but many agree the the 497s offer the best performance til you jump into the $130+ range or so.

no, its because they sound better. head-fi.org headphone.com etc. 497's are best until u start paying 3 times that much. don't save 20 bux and in the end waste 30 bux on something your not satisfied with:) remember burn in.. just play stuff loud on em continuously for 24+ hours to break em in...
