Best HDTV for under $1000

About to go to college, need a HDTV that I could hook up my MBP and an Xbox 360. Needs a built in ATSC tuner. 1080p not required but would be nice to have. At least 720p/1080i. Thanks guys.

I've been looking at the Vizio TVs at Costco/Sam's in that price range. I know they have a 37 inch 720p set for $750 now, and for $1199 they have a 42 inch 1080p set. If 1080p doesn't matter Vizio also has a 42 inch for under $900. Its a 720p set.

I think there is a Westinghouse 37 inch 1080p set as well for under $1,000. I've seen a lot of people on different forums using them for TV and computer monitors, and they almost all have good reviews for the set. Not sure if it has a built in tuner or not.

What size TV are you looking for?

Paying more than $600 for a 32" makes baby jesus cry.

I'd get the 42" 720p Vizio LCD from Sam's for $897.

What specs? Toshiba doesn't even list contrast ratio on their TVs specs...

I'm not saying Toshiba is bad, but if you're going to pay that much for a 32, you might as well spend a little more and get a 42".

i think the contrast is 5000:1

something that has 720p, THREE HDMI, TWO component, and QAM, NTSC, ATSC built in.
