hey guys this is my first post here. im a bit of a noob in regards to the new tech. thats coming out now days so i need some help.

im looking for a brand new hdtv for my room and want one that is good quality for gaming. i generally play older consoles like ps2 (i have a component cable to play ps2 games) ps1 and gamecube. but i also want to get a ps3 later down the track which is y i want it to be hdtv.

my question is, can i get a hdtv 1080p in 22" - 26" range, this what i am trying to find out.

also i want it to be a lcd with no (or low) lag.

if u can give me names of hdtvs that u would recommend for me that would be great.

I seen a samsung at BJ's that looked really nice. Link

They had it for $360. I guess samsung considers it a monitor, but it does have a tuner built iinto it.

That monitor uses the 16:10 aspect ratio. For console gaming you'll want 16:9 aspect ratio. Is there a reason why you're looking in the 22"-26" range rather than jumping up to 32"? 32" TVs seem to be only a little bit more than a 22" even though they're more than double the size.

Also, what are your price range and your viewing distance? You can find good deals on 32" TVs in the $300 range (this TV will be $350 at Radioshack on May 24 & 25), or you can spend close to $1000 for the top-of-the-line set. Personally I'm looking to get the Vizio VO32LF to use as a PC monitor and possibly with the PS2. It's 1080P, which isn't important in this size unless you use it with a computer. I can get a refurb TV right now for $405 after cash back (or the 37" for $485), but I'm hoping a better deal will come along. It was $355 a few weeks ago, but I wasn't looking for a monitor at that time.

wow, cool responses. thanks guys

yeh im looking in the 22"-26" range because i figured if i to go higher it would be too big for only a bedroom and also because i was alittle price conciose (sp?), also im looking for quality not size. im looking to hit around the $500-$800 mark, $1000 max, also i live in australia so this is of coarse $aud, its abit close to usd, so dont worry about that.

but i geuss i can go up to a 32". my viewing distance is pretty close (its a small room), lol dont worry the screen wont be stuck right up to my face, it would be like a couch length away from me

Everybody says they don't want a TV that's "too big", but nobody ever regrets buying the bigger TV. A 26" widescreen is barely larger than a computer monitor. And people typically sit only a couple feet away from their monitors.

A typical couch is what, 6-7" feet wide? At that distance you could sit comfortably in front of a 42" TV.
