I'm contemplating ordering a Dell 2405. I'd like to get HD TV and capture it via WinXP MCE and output it to the 2405. Any suggestions on the best way to set this up? I have a couple Hauppauge cards in my PC now but I want to capture HD quality.

TIA

I hear that the ATI HDTV wonder works well under MCE. The DVICO Fusion cards also have drivers available now that allow it to work under that OS as well.

Just as a heads up though (forgive me if you already know this), but capturing HDTV in MCE right now is basically limited to OTA only...cable/other channels that you have to pay for, can't really be watched/recorded in MCE as it exists right now, to my knowledge. Not to mention that there aren't yet any CableCard tuners for the PC yet anyway...

Thanks for the info. I'm researching it now and learning. It's disappointing that I will only get OTA HD. I don't watch much network TV. I suppose it may be worth looking into the ATI HDTV to watch sports or something. Still looking for the final straw to make me buy the 2405 :)

The MyHD 130 is a great card from what I hear. The problem with the ATI card is the horrible software that comes with it. The Fusion cards can do QAM but I hear it's hard to get working right.

MyHD MDP-130 over here.

 great card!

Watching CSI: Miami in HD right now ...

Don't really know what's going on since I don't follow the show, but it looks nice in HD

Indeed it is, but it doesn't work in MCE (from the MCE UI anyways) ;)

I'll probably end up with the ATI just for compatibility with MCE. A friend of mine loves the MYHD cards too.
