Hi,

Getting ready to do a new computer rebuild. Been about 3 years so trying to catch back up with all the hardware and software issues. I really want Vista 64 on this machine and feel most of my applications/needs for the computer will be fine except for video editing. The video editing forums really indicate true incompatibility with the 64 bit OS. So I thought I would create a dual boot configuration. I have two older 36 GB Raptors that I wanted to setup under Raid 0 as the OS/system drive. However, would it make better since to not set them up as Raid and use one raptor for each OS instead? Also, which OS would you install first? Seems like to me Vista should be installed first after the build since that will be my main OS.

Thanks in advance,

to use "RAID" you will need a raid chipset driver that is compatable with both operating systems.

with XP and Vista both loaded you will need to load XP first, then vista.

1.what i would do is install a single HD and load XP and turn off the system.
2.install the second HD [set the bios boot order], start the pc with the Vista Cd in the CD Drive and load Vista to the second HD.

Sounds like good advice. BUt what if I set them up as Raid 0, then partitioned the drives so I can install one OS on each drive. I guess I could do that at first and then install XP, followed by Vista!.
