best harddrive for DELL workstation

Hello all

I'm picking a drive for a DELL workstation. I want the best performance and reliability.
I notice they have some drives with 15,000 RPM. Are they better?
Is this SAS stuff very standard? Or am I better off with using SATA?
It seems like a need to buy some kind of controller if I use SAS? Will this cause headaches?

Am I better off with a RAID 0/RAID 1 array of 7200 RPM drives, or getting some of the SAS 15,000?

I know these questions are a bit all-over-the-place...

<choices below>

Here are my choice

What are you going to be doing with this machine is the big question. Same thing goes for the RAID question.

IF there is going to be alot of data movement like a DB I would go SAS, but you will need to select a controller card. The Perc does a good job, just don't get an el cheapo.
