Best Hard Drive deal?

I'm looking for a new hard drive for my computer. I've been reading about the previous deal on the IBM Deskstar 45GB 7200rpm here, but onvia.com raised their price from $149.99 to $159.99 on this product, and buy.com doesn't have that $30 coupon anymore. So, essentially, though it still may be a decent deal, I'd like to keep my expenses down a bit (though I'd love to get it if there was still that coupon).

Anyways, I'm trying to stay away from Western Digital based on people's comments.

I'd appreciate any help finding a great deal on a decent/good hard drive (7200+rpm).

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum Tom...this thread will get locked because if you want to ask for a deal, you have to post your request in the Anandtech Moderator Endorsed IWanna thread. Just do a search for it. Also, use the search feature to find hard drive deals...just search for hard drive. Hope this helps.

$159.99 is not that bad a price, considering Onvia includes shipping and usually no Sales Tax.

That's not how it works here, but look in the For Sale forum, fir3wir3 (something like that) is selling that drive for 150 shipped.

Matt Stone: thanks for the welcome and the info on how it works (hope it doesn't get locked right away cause i'm still learning!)

Herbman: Yeah, it's still a pretty good deal for the HD but I was kinda hoping someone would have a better deal or if anyone knew if any coupons would be coming out soon again or something like that, cause like I said, trying to keep the cost as low as possible, I'm a college student;)

hmm.. fir3wir3.. that name is familiar, think i saw his name the other day.. is he selling them new do you know?
