Have you ever heard of the mod They Hunger?

OHHH!!! A most excellent single player mod!

The mod itself is huge and remakes all aspects of HL, from weapons to textures to monsters. The story is that you're some poor sucker driving through this backwoods town and your truck is run off the road into a river. From there, you're plunged right into a John A. Romero Living Dead movie; the dead have come back to life and you need to arm yourself. The further you progress, the more you learn about the zombies and the sick experiments that were behind their creation.

There are multi play maps, but the real meat is single player.

Counter-Strike has become not only my favorite Half-Life mod, but also one of my favorite games, period. That and Chrono Trigger are my two favorites. I don't really get off too much on CS pubs (cheating, etc.), but I'm all about the league/clan play. So much fun when your team is clicking, the other team is clicking, and you have a good clean fight that comes down to one-versus-one for the win of the match. Great stuff, that is.
