I've in the market for a notebook - looking at 15.4" widescreens in the $1500 range, though I could push up to $1750 maybe.

I don't need the ultimate best in gaming, but I'd like to be able to play modern games and higher resolution is a plus.

I've been reading some reviews and heard good things about nvidia's 7900GS, and ati x1600, but I haven't found these in any 15.4" machines. So I'm wondering what you guys think about what's available in 15.4" notebooks?

I really like the look of the HP dv6000z, but what concerns me is the geforce 7200 go with 64MB discrete ram plus 192MB shared using nvidia's 'turboCache'.

Thanks for your input!

The midrange X1600 and go7600 will be the best you'll find.

Check out the Asus S96J/Z96J, Compal HEL80, and HP nw8430.

Check out Toshiba, they have some Go 7600 & Go 7900GS notebooks that might be in your price range.

Thanks for the input guys. I had been looking at the toshiba a1xx series but didn't see those video cards in the customization options. are you talking about preconfigured systems? the p1xx series are 17" notebooks, so I think they would be a little too big for what i want.

thanks again.
