from 15" 1024x768 to 21" Viewsonic P815 1600x1200 @85Hz

P4 2.0A GHz w/GeForce Ti4200 64MB AGP --> i7-2700k w/Geforce 580

I skipped so many generations I went from the 4xxx to 5xx even though this was WORLDS apart. So yeah HL2 at 1024x768 --> maxxed out Skyrim ultra w/mods @ 1920x1080. Quite the leap, and only 9 years of a wait. Doubt I'm gonna see that same leap in another 9 years. Will be like what? 4k displays being typical and maybe 8k+ ??

I had a super socket 7 board with the new agp slot. When I upgraded my pci S3 trio graphics card to a Voodoo3 3000 I was stunned by the graphics change.

My first eye-blower was a Voodoo 3 3000 as well, but I upgraded from on board. So double.

I also remember buying an 8800 Ultra and playing FEAR maxed out smoothly for the first time. That was wonderful.

And, of course, finally seeing eyefinity in all of it's glory with my 5970. The first game I played was GRID; just fricking awesome.

I was running an Asus SP97 motherboard running a K6-233 using a peltier cooler.
I bought a second hand Diamond Monster Voodoo 1 4mb and looped it to the SiS5598 onboard (4mb)and ran Fifa 1996. Called the entire family in to see the very first 3d rendering of a game.

That was by far the biggest Graphic improvement i have seen in a single jump and I doubt it will ever be seen again. :biggrin:

I'm trying to decide if it was the jump from Socket7 k2/400 + Riva TNT to a Slot A 700 + Radeon 64mb or the Radeon 64mb to a Xp @ 2.2ghz + AIW 800XT. Both were pretty big jumps.
