As the title states I am looking for the best card that requires only 1, 6 pin power connector. Any suggestions? I would guess I'm looking mainly at Nvidia 960's and 970's, right? AMD Doesn't offer anything equivalent with only a single 6 pin connector, right?

Anyone know any sites where you can sort by this type of criteria, couldn't do it on Newegg or PC parts pickers website, have to go through them all manually to look at the spec. requirements?

Thanks for any info. guys

Is that a limitation of your PSU or something?
There are lots of GPUs that have 6pin power plugs, both AMD & Nvidia, so, the question is, how much performance do you want, and what CPU you got?

There is only one correct answer, GTX 960.

The fastest card AMD has with that criteria is the R7 370. It's quite a bit slower than the 960 though (also cheaper by ~$40 for 2GB and 4GB variants).

No limitation on the PSU. I had a client that was asking for the best video card they could get that required only a single 6 pin power connector. I came across the same result Shady 28 gave that it is a Nvidia 960 card, I wanted to verify since I am not up to the current technology in video cards and figured the experts on the forum would know better than me.

Thanks

But, without knowing the CPU, that might be overkill... or in other words, why tell them to get a $200+ card, when they can't take full advantage of a $150 card?

If you go for 960, make sure you check your specific brand.

Some of the AIB 960s have an 8-pin, ostensibly for extreme OC by the end user. They don't need it from what I've read (they all OC like mad), but if 6-pin is a requirement you'll want to make sure you avoid the 8-pin models.

Yeah, I noticed that. Did also look if there was a one 6-pin 970, doesn't seem to be.

If you pick up an 8 pin adapter, the itx version of the gtx 970 only requires 1

There is not way to answer this without knowing the power supply. The client thinks he knows what he wants, but it is your job to know what he needs.

eg: if he is not limiting you to an existing power supply, he is not limited to one 6-pin connection.

If its not a really crappy PSU then a card that comes with a molex to 6 pin (or simply getting such a converter) might work fine. The Strix 970 comes with a single 8 pin iirc. But don't support nvidia.

There should be a reason to be limited to just that kind of configuration. At over $200 it starts to look strange to have a limitaton like that.

What is Fury Nano going to have? Shouldnt it only have one 6 pin? Or is it one 8 pin? And really, has anyone ever had a problem connecting a 6 pin cable into an 8 pin socket? It seems like it would never even be an issue if you dont overclock.
