5770 or a GTX 460 768MB

You can find the 5770 for around $80 when on sale. GTX 460 768MB were below $100 a few times but seems like those deals have dried up. Register at slickdeals and set up a deal alert for both of those cards.

this 4850 is a good card also (especially when you consider the price, $50 after rebate): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?&Item=N82E16814150482

GTX460 768MB would be a nice upgrade and not overkill, and can be had for close to $100 AR.
Best card for the money and 768MB shouldn't hold you back.

Much appreciated!

I have that Asus GTX 460 768MB.

If you are OK with $110, that would be your best choice.

Best value would be that $150 5870 on sale at newegg, if it's still there. A little more money for a whole lot more performance.

wait wait wait... backup... is this a 7900GS AGP card???? if so, your at the end of the line for AGP cards, you will have to get a new motherboard to put the above cards to use...

^ Should be a PCIe version if it is currently running in OP's E5200 system.

gtx 460 768 is ideal, that will last you another 5 yrs as long as you don't go up in resolution. 5770 is ok but won't give you as much life. 4850 is only dx10, over the next few years you'll wish that you'd gotten the 5770 or gtx 460 768 instead if you get that card. Civ 5 is the first game to really get dx11 "right", but now that AMD and Nvidia have the drivers for it I expect that we'll see most newer games really take advantage of some of the improvements.
